What is ego surfing?

Ego surfing is the act of searching for yourself in search engines. This is done often by bloggers who search for writing about themselves. The overall effect is an ego boost because someone is taking the time to write about said blogger, be it for good or bad. It also allows for positive cross blog conversations, also know as a distributed conversation. An example of an ego surf could be a search for people citing things on yak.net using technorati.
